Wyomissing, PA (March 19, 2019) – Customers Bank, a leading super-community bank with operations in Pennsylvania, District of Columbia, Illinois, New Jersey, New York and New England, announced it has donated $15,000 to the Council Rock Education Foundation (CREF) on February 22, 2019. The donation was part of Customers Bank’s continued effort to support community, nonprofit and educational organizations throughout Bucks County that provide important programs to enhance community members’ lives.
“We are very proud to partner with Council Rock Education Foundation and support the organization’s mission,” said Richard Ehst, President and Chief Operating Officer of Customers Bank. “Providing a strong educational foundation for children is a very important piece in building thriving communities.”
The donation from Customers Bank supports CREF’s kindergarten through 12th grade districtwide Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) initiatives that are not covered by the annual school budget. The donation will fund innovative projects that help Council Rock students strengthen S.T.E.A.M.-based skills and knowledge, such as the districtwide 4th Grade Embryology Project.
The donation was presented to CREF by Jonathan Klass, SVP and relationship manager for Customers Bank’s Bucks County Commercial Lending team.
Customers Bank is also supporting CREF as the presenting sponsor for “The Duel,” CREF’s annual signature fundraiser on March 15, 2019, as well as the Council Rock Golf Classic at the Philmont Country Club scheduled for June 3, 2019.
